The international team OptiILmDriveX (Optimal Ilmenau Driving X) from TU Ilmenau consists of 2 master, 1 bachelor students from electrical engineering, industrial engineering and computer science, 2 doctoral students from Simulation and Optimal Processes (SOP) group. SOP has been researching for some years topics such as image processing, cooperative systems and model predictive control for fast systems. The practical application of the theoretical knowledge has brought us to autonomous driving.
The Audi Autonomous Driving Cup 2018 offers an excellent opportunity to verify our independently developed algorithms on a model vehicle in a complex traffic environment. The aim is to introduce advanced control techniques, optimization techniques and artificial intelligence into the field of autonomous driving. Therefore, we recruit team members from different research fields and hope to bring new ideas into autonomous vehicles industry.
The research group leader is Prof. Dr.-Ing. habil. Pu Li. The research of the department is characterized by the modeling and simulation of complex dynamic systems as well as the development and application of different methods and algorithms of optimization.
